Driving The Bronx
Bronx trips live and die on the Major Deegan and the Cross Bronx. The Cross Bronx is the most congested stretch of highway in the country, so for LaGuardia we prefer the Whitestone or Throgs Neck approach from the east Bronx and the Triborough from the south, rather than crossing the borough at rush hour.
Riverdale and Fieldston sit on steep, narrow, tree-lined lanes where a stretch simply cannot operate; we send sedans and standard SUVs and stage on Riverdale Avenue or Henry Hudson Parkway service roads for pickups above 246th Street.
Yankee Stadium event nights close and reroute the streets around 161st and River Avenue. We stage south of the stadium on Exterior Street and text the meeting point rather than trying to hold a curb in the crowd.
